Ask, Is New York Moving to London?

In an email exchange,
Janet Tavakoli, president of Tavakoli Structured Finance,
Chicago, said Monday [Jan. 22] these observations
about London's preeminence hold for several product lines. In
the field of credit derivatives in particular, London was only
a minor player in the 1996–97 period, but represented about
half the market by 2002, and its share has continued to rise.
London also dominates euro forex trading, she said.
