Credit Derivatives Firm

Chicago, April 29 (Bloomberg) -- Janet Tavakoli, former head
of financial engineering at WestLB AG, Germany's largest state
bank, started her own derivatives consulting company.
The company, called Tavakoli Structured Finance Inc., will be
based in Chicago and focus on structuring -- repackaging debt
for
resale, and on credit derivatives and collateralized debt
obligations, both used to transfer risk.
``Credit derivatives are surgical strikes against portfolio
credit risk,'' Tavakoli said.
Tavakoli quit WestLB in London last July after a
reorganization that moved the 25-member credit derivatives unit
into the global financial-markets division.
